This week on Cinema Chop Shop, Travis, Shawn and Hilary break out the popcorn and soda for a look at some drive-in theatre classic grindhouse movies. First up they are seeing red with Dario Argento's Susperia 1977. After the break it's one of Quentin Tarantino's favorite grinhouse films: The Girl from Starship Venus (1975), a Briish softcore sci-fi satire.

It's Customs week at Cinema Chop Shop as Travis, Brew Boss Shawn, Andrew Te and Joey Poole pitch some new ideas for films they'd like to see. Shawn starts us off with Steve Carell in a heartwarming film with a big imagination, then Travis goes time travelling with Riley Keough and Alan Ruck in a comtemporary political thriller. After the break, Andrew ushers in the era of the Dogvengers Cinematic universe, mashing up the Avengers franchise with Wes Andreson's Isle of Dogs, where TV and cinema's greatest canine heroes team up to fight one bad cat. Travis, Brew Boss Shawn and Joey Poole get together on Nerd Pride Day and celebrate their geekiness by talking about a few movies for the intellectually inclined. First up is Real Genius (1985), a comedy where engineering students are tasked with developing a sinister weapon, a story that Joey Poole retrofits for our modern times. After the break, it's Lucas (1986), a movie about high school love which was the film debut of Winona Rider. The guys get real relating the often mysogynistic nerd culture developed in films like this from the 80s with some of the social issues we face today. To cap it off, we honor the original, archtypical nerd in this week's Honey Roast.

First it's her mainstream debut in Conan the Destroyer (1984) where Shawn and Travis find they're thinking alike on their picks, followed by a round of Conan trivia. After the break we get our Bond on with A View to a Kill (1985) after which we take a moment to recognize the late Roger Moore in the Honey Roast

First up is Mommie Dearest (1981) featuring an introduction from friend of the show Dr. Bobb from the Checkered Past podcast. After the break, it's Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine in Postcards from the Edge (1990). Then we dive in to the responses from the Chop Shopper Challenge film Mermaids, and give a Honey Roast for one of America's all-time great sitcom moms Florence Henderson.

Travis & the Brew Boss Shawn are joined by newcomers Jacob Suggs of Frame By Frame and Bryan Fisher of Seminar Brewing for a look at Star Wars past and present. First we talk a bit about what Star Wars means to us and where what we might see in the future from this franchise, and Bryan tells a few stories from Skywalker Ranch. Then for the recast we shop around a few names for a hypothetical modern remake of the original Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977). After the break, Andrew stumps the guests with some Star Wars trivia, and we do our best for the Honey Roast of Hayden Christensen
