Sunday Aug 05, 2018
S3E04 Borden to Death: Parricide Movies. This week on the 126th anniversary of the Lizzie Borden murders (and the show's 1st Birthday) Travis and Brewboss Shawn get morbid. We're talking about "Parricide Movies", or films in which children kill their parents. First up is the laughably bad "Deadfall" from 1993. It's the story of a long-con gone wrong with Michael Biehn, James Coburn, and a geeked out Nicholas Cage. Next we re-cast the made-for-TV "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" from 1975. This historical dramatization stars Elizabeth Montgomery as a daughter accused of killing her parent with an axe in 1892. Plus regular segulars the D.O.C.D., Midnight Dbl. Feature, Energy drink and Beer check-ins, the #2018MovieMarathon, and Honey Roast.

Sunday Jul 29, 2018
S3E03 Gettin' Some Strangelove: This week Travis, Shawn, and Hilary convene at the Chop Shop Garage to discuss the films of Stanley Kubrick. He would have been 90 this week, but his cinematic genius and influence lives on. We selected two of his earlier studio pictures prior to his moving to England and pursuing only passion projects. First up is the historical epic "Spartacus" with Kirk Douglas. Then we tread lightly with the controversial "Lolita". Also you can expect all the regular segulars like the DOCD, Midnight Double Feature, Beer check-in, #2018MovieMarathon, and a very special Honey Roast of Hilary for her birthday.

This is a movie podcast that goes under the hood of iconic films and genres, examining what works and what should be retooled to make them better.
